Job DescriptionJob DescriptionRESPONSIBILITES
  • Operate and monitor solids control equipment, such as shale shakers, mud cleaners, centrifuges, and drying shakers, to ensure proper separation and removal of solids from drilling fluids.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on solids control equipment to ensure optimal performance and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
  • Adjust and calibrate equipment settings based on drilling conditions and fluid properties to achieve desired separation efficiency.
  • Develop a routine equipment maintenance plan in alignment with Operations and business objectives
  • Collect, test, and analyze samples of drilling fluids and solids to assess their properties and make necessary adjustments to the solids control system.
  • Monitor and maintain fluid levels in tanks, ensuring proper mixing and dilution of drilling fluids.
  • Assist in the setup and dismantling of solids control equipment during rig mobilization and demobilization.
  • Collaborate with drilling personnel and mud engineers to optimize solids control processes and resolve any operational challenges.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring the adherence to relevant regulatory standards and procedures.
  • Keep detailed records and reports of solids control operations, equipment maintenance, and fluid properties.
  • Train and mentor junior solids control operators as required.
  • Support all new build equipment processes as defined by business unit.
  • Additional tasks as assigned to employee by Supervisor/Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training in oilfield or geotechnical operations is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Solids Control Operator or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of solids control equipment, systems, and processes.
  • Familiarity with various drilling fluids, their properties, and the principles of separation.
  • Ability to operate and maintain solids control equipment effectively and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Proficient in collecting and analyzing fluid and solids samples using appropriate testing methods and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with colleagues and other stakeholders.
  • Willingness to work in remote locations and adhere to a flexible schedule, including rotational shifts and extended hours.
