The Role

The Director of POS Technology will work in conjunction with the sales team ensuring exceptional technical and customer interaction within the organization domestic and internationally. This position partners with OWL Services’ sales managers and operational leaders to develop solutions for customer issue resolution, solutions targeted for distributor and direct accounts and strategies to ensure OWL Services retention of existing customers is focused and a top priority.

This position is responsible for identifying new innovative methods for OWL Services sales managers to proactively sell OWL Services and provide customized solutions to implement new products to prospective and existing customers. By developing key relationships with OWL Services customers and providing a proven implementation process, OWL Services customers will seek out OWL Services first for products and services. The individual in this role will work with the marketing and sales staff to design a robust program for products, services and supplies. He or she will work directly with the OWL Services sales staff to meet specific customer needs and provide solutions and processes that ensure a successful implementation and long-term relationship with OWL Services customers.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing account specific plans, tactics, and sales delivery functions designed to meet or exceed client objectives
  • Building the relationship with all assigned accounts using internal/external resources through client visitation, consultative interactions and creative problem resolution
  • Identifies current and future customer relationship requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand their requirements.
  • Provides product, equipment technical and engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Works with Sales Team establishing new accounts and supports accounts by identifying potential customers; planning and organizing sales call schedule.
  • Prepares cost estimates by studying blueprints, plans, and related customer documents; consulting with engineers, architects, and other professional and technical personnel when necessary.
  • Determines improvements by analyzing cost-benefit ratios of equipment, supplies, or sales support applications in customer environment; engineering or proposing changes in equipment, processes, or use of materials or services.
  • Gains customer acceptance by explaining or demonstrating cost reductions and operations improvements.
  • Submits orders by conferring with technical support staff; costing engineering changes. Develops customer's staff by providing technical information and training.
  • Prepares Director POS Technology reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales information and engineering and application trends.
  • Maintains professional and technical know ledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Contributes to Director POS Technology effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing directives.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Special projects, as requested
  • Works with Management Team to provide competitive data and communicate ideas for improving our products and ways to simplify deployment and ongoing support of our solutions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years sales/technical combined experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years in project management.
  • 5+ years of experience working with and managing vendor relationships including experience with RFPs, new vendor implementation, and managing service level agreements.
  • Strong systems background leveraging technology to scale programs and improve efficiencies.
  • Experience in a geographically dispersed, multi-site client base environment required.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations regarding service and installation requirements.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, customer service skills and be customer direct focused working with large accounts

Skills & Ability

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to interface with internal clients.
  • Ability to develop presentations and lead discussions with customers at differing levels.
  • Experience identifying and resolving issues independently, will take initiative even under unfamiliar or ambiguous circumstances.
  • Innovative with a proven track of seeing projects/programs through end-to-end.
  • Strong interest and experience in Petroleum and POS Technology.
  • Strong reporting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a cross functional environment.
  • Work with minimal supervision.

Additional Requirements:

  • The ability to travel overnight nationally and internationally 60% as needed is required.
