Position Summary:

The Director of Information Technology will manage and direct the information technology (IT) operations within Berger US, ensuring the department provides efficient and effective technical support services. They will also work to streamline processes and support technological innovations in close collaboration with the global IT setup. The role will interact with and take direction from the Chief Digital Officer and Global Head of IT, as well as the Regional CEO. The role will report to the Regional CEO.



YOUR TASKS AND PRIORITIES:

  • Responsible for the IT setup of Berger Logistics US, including management, development and coaching of your teams, as well as management of external service providers
  • Oversee IT operations and supervise systems
  • Develop and/or deploy strategy as it relates to the organization's IT infrastructure (computer and information systems, security, communication systems, applications)
  • Analysis of business processes and advice on optimizing workflows to create a digital company with the highest security standards
  • Responsibility for technical sub-project management in all change projects within the US, including budget responsibility and reporting to the management team
  • Consult senior-level management across the entire organization to identify business and technology needs and to optimize the use of information technology
  • Support the setup of a global IT organization together with the global Head of IT and the CDO
  • Ensure smooth delivery and operations of IT services by monitoring systems performance
  • Create processes and standards for selection, implementation, and support of systems
  • Provide direction, guidance, and training to all staff, as needed
  • Build and maintain the security of networks, systems, hardware and software as well as for the services, solutions and functions used
  • Structure and deploy IT policies for all employees, and provide education and guidance as needed via Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Defender and other systems
  • Facilitate regular patching of employee computers and ensure security of the systems
  • Develop, manage, and track the IT department's annual budget
  • Be available as needed for emergencies such as power outages
  • Be willing to continue to learn latest systems and best practices



Requirements

  • BA in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Experience working in IT operations, supervising technology teams, and overseeing large information technology projects
  • Excellent understanding of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and telecommunications systems
  • Experienced in the Windows ecosystem for endpoints and servers, especially in Microsoft Azure, including Active Directory and related services (e.g. group policy and print management)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with teams across the entire organization
  • Excellent leadership and decision-making skills to prioritize broad workload
  • Experience in working within a multi-national corporation and across multiple regions
  • Experience in the International Logistics and/or Trucking industries
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles
  • Strong knowledge of IT Security measures and tools
