Administrative Assistant

Nursery Coordinator – Parrish, Florida

Full-time, Non-exempt position (30 to 40 hours per week)

Summary:

We are looking for a Nursery Coordinator to help with the administrative portion of our native plant nursery, facilitating wholesale sales and purchasing, and marketing of our plants. Duties:

• Providing excellent customer service and looking for opportunities to upsell during sales calls and emails.
• Answer the plant sales phone and assist customers with plant sales.
• Preparing purchase orders, coordinating with vendors, and submitting invoices for payment.
• Coordinate plant deliveries.
• Preparing invoices and collecting accounts receivables.
• Building relationships with customers, vendors, and company staff.
  
• Performing clerical duties at the nursery office.

Role Requirements:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) is required.
• Knowledge of QuickBooks and Adobe Acrobat is strongly preferred.
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
• Experience in a plant nursery is a must.
• Knowledge of inventory, purchase orders, receiving, and billing is required.
• Understanding the basic principles of accounting is required.

Work Environment:

• Most of the duties of this position will be performed in an office and, sporadically, duties performed at the native plant nursery.
• This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
• Occasionally, you will be walking through the uneven terrain of the plant nursery and exposed to outdoor weather conditions, fumes, and/or airborne particles. The noise level is usually low to moderate.
