Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Quality Assurance team to achieve quality, cost, delivery and social mission objectives.
  • Manage Orion’s Quality System and facilitate 3rd party audits to ensure compliance with applicable quality standards (e.g. AS9100, Nadcap, D1-4426).
  • Establish controls to assure Orion and customer quality standards are met throughout production.
  • Direct overall inspection program at Orion.
  • Administer the Orion corrective/preventive action process and manage internal quality system audits.
  • Interface with Orion staff, suppliers, and customer representatives to coordinate problem solving for Quality issues.
  • Lead/participate in Lean Manufacturing projects and initiatives.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years Quality Management experience in an AS9100 certified environment
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience
  • Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing operations (specifically metalworking and special processing)
  • Experience managing 3rd party audits
  • Proven experience making process improvements
  • Program Management experience a plus

Wage Range:

The pay range for this role considers several factors, including but not limited to required experience, skill level, prior training, education, and other business needs.

  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to reach, manipulate, handle, and hold material.

  • Frequent use of speaking ability to express or exchange ideas, communicate detailed information, or convey instructions.
  • Frequent lifting of 5 or 10 pounds, with occasional lifting to 35 pounds
  • Exposure to manufacturing shop floor, requiring use of Safety Glasses
  • Exposure to excess noise levels, occasionally necessitating the use of Hearing Protection
