SCADA Automation Specialist

Our client, a Oil and Gas company, is seeking a SCADA Automation Specialist for its Irving, Texas location. This individual will support, maintain, update, and troubleshoot SCADA related field equipment including PLCs, Flow Computers, and other communication devices necessary for SCADA operations.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead automation programming efforts for Emerson ROC 800 & Omni EFM's as well as Allen Bradley PLCs in ladder logic.
- Provide daily operational support for Facility HMI/PLC systems.
- Provide field/operations support of instrumentation (flow, temperature, pressure), well controls (RTU and PLC), communications network (radio, cell modems)
- Collaborate with Engineering to design, budget, and manage automation-related projects, and order parts, and materials to support new pipeline automation equipment installations.
- Build, interpret, and verify project documents for installation and maintenance of the pipeline equipment.
- Work with equipment vendors and service companies to ensure product and service consistency with service companies concerning procedures and techniques.
- Create and compile technical documentation, including service manuals, equipment diagrams, installation procedures, commissioning procedures, equipment location documentation and configuration information, etc.
- Work closely with field technicians and other support staff to troubleshoot data and communication issues between SCADA and field devices.
Knowledge and Skills:
- BS or MS Degree in Computer Science or Engineering a plus.
- 3+ years of experience with Oil and Gas SCADA systems.
- Excellent working knowledge of ROC and Omni Flow computers
- Experience designing and constructing oil and gas facilities a plus
- Willingness to travel to field locations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software suite.
- Experience with integrating various SCADA products such as Wonderware Intouch and Rockwell Automation Panelview+ product line.
- Three years or more experience with Microsoft SQL databases and Microsoft Operating Systems
- Minimum of three years directly related and progressively responsible SCADA, telemetric and Load Management system administration experience in an energy production/transportation environment, including programming and analysis.
- Good working knowledge of pipeline operations.
