Job DescriptionJob DescriptionRetail Shift Lead We are hiring a Retail Shift Leader for our client, a renowned baking and kitchen brand, at their new retail pop-up shop in Fairfax, VA.
Reports to General ManagerThe Retail Shift Leader functions with limited supervision and is responsible for all supervisory duties during the assigned shift, including opening and closing tasks. The individual in this role acts as a role model for the retail team in providing exemplary customer service, generating sales, and performing operational functions throughout the store. Essential duties and responsibilities
  • Leadership:
    • Assigns daily tasks to staff members, oversees completion of tasks.
    • Holds morning huddles to ensure all company policies, store operating standards, and procedures are communicated effectively and are maintained and followed in a consistent manner.
    • Actively supports department daily goals through sound decision making and priority management.
    • Supports and communicates with team leaders and manager during assigned shifts ensuring customer service standards are met and staff behavior is acceptable and meets performance expectations.
    • Partners with other shift leaders to ensure smooth transitions between shifts.
    • Participates in and supports new hire training.
    • Attends and participates in staff meetings
    • Performs additional tasks and responsibilities as necessary.
    • Contributes as a positive, consistent, and respectful role model.
    • Leads assigned shift to ensure high levels of customer service and efficiencies.
  • Operational Duties:
    • Opens and closes POS registers following procedure
    • Performs advanced POS functions, hourly sales reports, receipt searches, etc.
    • Prepares deposits/maintain change funds at proper levels
    • Maintains and orders supplies.
    • Makes bank deposits, processes checks.
    • Ensures adherence to all food and workplace safety regulations, procedures and policies.

  • 1-2 years of experience in a retail related field, beneficial
  • Previous supervisor experience a plus

  • Ability to be a clear thinker; remain calm and resolve problems using sound judgment.
  • Ability to motivate staff while maintaining a cohesive team.
  • Ability to respond to all customer requests with exemplary service.
