Medical Office Assistant

Dr. Benjamin Liess is seeking a highly motivated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join his Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) practice that includes ENT, Allergy, and Audiology departments. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our practice by managing schedules, answering phones, and handling insurance and billing processes. As the Medical Office Assistant, you will often be the first point of contact for patients and responsible for ensuring that all patients have a positive experience when visiting the Practice.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage Schedules: Coordinate and schedule patient appointments, ensuring efficient use of time and resources.
- Answer Phones: Respond to incoming calls professionally, addressing patient inquiries, and directing calls to the appropriate staff.
- Insurance and Billing: Verify patient insurance coverage, process claims, handle billing inquiries, and manage patient payments.
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients, check them in, and assist with any paperwork or documentation needed.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate patient records and update information as needed.
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the front office.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting a plus
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medical billing codes
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information
- Strong organizational, problem solving and time management skills
- Must be able to work well under pressure and collaborate with a team
Hours are 7:30 - 4PM Monday - Friday. We offer a competitive hourly rate along with PTO time, Paid Holidays, Healthcare (paid in part by the practice), Dental, Vision Insurance after 90 days and a 401K plan after a year.
