Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSummary:The CNC department is in charge of operating computer numerical control machines to fabricate parts. The CNC operator loads parts in the machine, cycles machine and detects malfunctions in machine operations, such as worn or damaged cutting tools. The position runs production lots, communicates with co-workers regarding productions runs, and maintains a safe, organized and clean work environment.Job Functions:
  • Load and unload parts into machines.

  • Use basic measuring equipment to inspect ports.

  • Maintain production rates.

  • Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisor.

  • Performs inspection of machined products, and maintains inspection logs.

  • Must follow all safety rules and policies as set forth by OSHA guidelines and Pace Industries policies and procedures as outlined in the employee manual.

  • Follow detailed work instructions.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to read drawings or blueprints.

  • Inspect products for surface and dimension defects in order to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.

Skills:·Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with others.·Demonstrates a high level of dependability in all aspects of the job.·Ability to learn and properly apply new job-related information in a timely manner.·Ability to perform basic measurement and basic math tasks.·Performs jobs in a manner that minimizes hazards to self, others and the environment.   • Experience operating CNC machines.
  • Full knowledge of inspection tools.

Physical Demands:

  • The employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position at work station.

  • Occasionally lift or move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to ascend, descend and work atop ladders and equipment.

  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, climb, stoop or kneel.
