Toolmaking Specialist

Job Summary:

Allied Machine & Engineering, a leading manufacturer of cutting tool systems, is seeking a skilled Apprentice Machinist to join our team. As an Apprentice Machinist, you will play a critical role in the production of high-quality tools, jigs, and fixtures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce tools, jigs, and fixtures using various manufacturing processes, including CNC machining and manual grinding.
• Setup and operate CNC machining centers, surface grinders, and other equipment to manufacture precision tools.
• Program machining centers and develop knowledge of cutting tool parameters, including depth of cut, speeds, and feeds.
• Develop the ability to read complex blueprints and specifications.
• Conduct quality inspections of manufactured tools and components.
• Bench work, assembly, and testing of components.
• Prioritize work using the Alps scheduling system.

Requirements:

• High School Graduate or GED equivalent.
• Program machining centers preferred.
• Good troubleshooting skills and time management.
• Ability to use precision measurement tools, including calipers, micrometers, and indicators.
