Job Description: Design Build Team Lead


Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Design Build Team Lead to join our landscaping company. The Design Build Team Lead will oversee landscape installation projects, ensuring all work is completed efficiently, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves leading a team, interpreting landscape plans, and coordinating with clients to deliver exceptional results.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform landscape installation tasks such as layout, planting, grading, hardscape installation, irrigation, drainage, and horticulture practices.
  • Utilize hand tools (e.g., pick, shovel, grading rakes), advanced tools (e.g., wire tracker/transit), and construction equipment (e.g., backhoes, trenchers, loaders) effectively and safely.
  • Complete assigned tasks within labor goals while meeting quality performance expectations according to company standards.
  • Efficiently plan and execute tasks within project budgets, production rates, and timelines.
  • Interpret all aspects of landscape plans and specifications accurately.

Qualifications:

  • Chauffeurs License or ability to obtain before the first day of employment.
  • Ability to pull a trailer.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in landscaping installation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and effectively communicate with clients as required.
  • Proficiency in reading plans and designs.
  • Familiarity with basic landscape tools and equipment.
  • Knowledge of seasonal clean-ups, garden bed care, annual flower plantings, bed edging, and mulching techniques.
  • Ability to follow directions and work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Capability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in landscaping or related field.
  • Knowledge of plant diseases, pests, and treatments.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to move, lift, and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
