Responsibilities:

  • Conduct strength-based client assessments to identify housing needs and barriers and conduct in-depth research on housing eligibility and opportunities.
  • Develop strong connections with the public and private landlord community to optimize housing quantity and quality.
  • Collaborate with housing case managers and system navigators to provide suitable housing options alongside necessary support and resources.
  • Ensure timely completion of monthly rehousing plans.
  • Support, assist, and advocate for clients throughout the rehousing process by handling tasks such as filling out applications, scheduling and attending showings, and keeping clients informed and updated on the tenant selection process.
  • Assist clients in applying for and appealing reasonable accommodations, and guide budgeting, effective problem-solving, and options planning.
  • Proactively assess and help resolve eviction actions, utility arrears, or other housing stability factors.
  • Educate clients about tenant and landlord rights and responsibilities, rental assistance programs, homebuyer readiness information, and available community resources.
  • Stay updated on new and modified housing assistance programs, services, and related regulations to provide accurate client guidance.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate case notes in databases/systems, ensuring effective communication across internal departments.
  • Conduct regular unit walkthroughs to identify tenancy preservation concerns and address potential safety issues by submitting work orders as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the housing case manager to track progress towards rehousing, submit incident and non-compliance reports, and ensure ADA accommodations are properly addressed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of equivalent experience in housing, social services, or a related role, or a combination of experience and a high school diploma (or equivalent).
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are required.
  • Preference for experience in conducting housing searches.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work with diverse populations and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, along with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
