  • Obtain demographic and insurance information from the provider’s office.
  • Coordinate with the OR scheduler if procedures require full sedation.
  • Assign each scheduled procedure an account number, ensure precertification/authorizations have been completed, and check for ABN.
  • Resolve and answer patient concerns and questions on walk-in and scheduled appointments.
  • Courteously answer telephone calls and route the calls or record accurate messages for the appropriate personnel.
Radiology Scheduler’s Qualifications
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required; a Certified Patient Accounts Representative (CPAR) or Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) is preferred.
  • Previous work experience in meeting and communicating with the public is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software packages is required.
  • Essential knowledge of tests, procedures, terminology, and insurance knowledge is required.
