Role Summary

The Radiology Technologist Support Specialist is responsible for executing a range of administrative and clinical tasks while ensuring exceptional patient care and service quality.


Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately enters all necessary patient data into the system, including protocols and comprehensive patient histories, to assist radiologists in their evaluations.
  • Collects thorough and detailed patient histories to aid radiologists in diagnostic processes.
  • Prepares examination rooms and provides assistance during procedures, including the initiation of IVs for contrast as required.
  • Ensures proper patient identification and demonstrates empathy while upholding patient confidentiality. Clearly explains procedures to patients to promote safety and cooperation.
  • Addresses patient needs and concerns proactively to provide comfort and reassurance.
  • Performs administrative tasks at various office locations as needed.
  • Communicates effectively with referring physicians' offices via phone in a professional manner.
  • Manages the preparation of CDs and film jackets, including uploading external CDs for comparative analysis when necessary.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of examination rooms by ensuring they are stocked with essential supplies. Reports any equipment issues to the supervisor or designated service provider.
  • Regularly reviews and verifies daily schedules.
  • Engages in all modalities and gathers patient histories as required.
Qualifications

Preferred candidates will have:

  • A minimum of two years of experience in the Medical Assisting field.
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistance program or certification.
Skills and Physical Requirements

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster effective relationships with colleagues and patients.
  • The ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.

This role requires prolonged periods of sitting or standing, frequent bending, and the ability to lift over 50 pounds. Candidates must have clear vision with or without corrective lenses and the ability to hear clearly, with or without assistance.
