JOB SUMMARY
This position is primarily responsible for leading and deploying the best practices in the manufacturing organization by taking initiative to support continuous improvement in various manufacturing processes by reducing the tooling costs and improving the flow of material and setting up cycle times. Work towards achieving the manufacturing goals and objectives of the organization. Leads, facilitates, executes, and manages projects to reduce the costs significantly by implementing Lean tools, SMED, and Six Sigma tools and methodologies.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop Operations plans that include capacity for full-time equivalents, equipment, and space.
• Production line design and balanced loading analyses, layout creation and implementation
• Plan, execute and report out on layout updates for NPD programs, changes to existing programs including ramp planning, and manage applicable utility updates.
• Develop, post, and maintain operational performance metrics
• Lead updates to standard labor, overhead and material cost changes resulting from changes in customer demand, new program introductions, improvements to standard times, etc.…
• To make optimum utilization of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools to assist in preparing the feasibility studies and ensure that the costs incurred are justified
• Review production schedules, engineering specifications, process flows, and other information to understand methods and activities in manufacturing and services
• To evaluate various improvements that need to be done and create value analysis and to look out for ways to reduce the costs in the engineering and manufacturing applications
• To confer with the senior management team and other related personnel to create designs and to clarify and resolve any relevant issues
• To give directions to help in preparing the layouts and detailed drawings that will eventually assist in improving the manufacturing processes
• To develop and lead methods that would help in reducing the cost without compromising on the quality standards to ensure increased efficiency and quality and make recommendations
• To achieve cost effective designs and to carry out research, design, and development work of the manufacturing process that would include assembly methods, production flow and production equipment
• Provides leadership to the other departments and interrelates well with all areas of the company
• Effectively resolve all problems that arise or seek assistance in a timely manner
• Understands company policies and procedures
• Develop a complete knowledge of management software as it pertains to the shop
• Complies with company, quality and safety standards, policies, and procedures
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
• 5 to 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in quality within a manufacturing environment.
• Green Belt preferred but training available to meet requirement.
• Be adaptable to accept new changes in the field of lean manufacturing and should remain abreast with the latest developments happening in that field
• Extremely organized and should have the ability to identify problems and resolve them quickly
• Strong oral and written communication skills with excellent planning and implementation skills would prove to be an advantage
• Must be self-driven with positive attitude and should be result oriented
• Must have exceptional communication skills and work well with people
• Excellent analytical skills combined with negotiation skills
• Advanced Excel experience preferred
• Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.
