Job Summary

The Field Service Technician Level 1 provides professional field technical service and support

for our customers, operations, and engineering, by performing field service installation,

startup, repairs, and maintenance of our water- and wastewater equipment around the globe.

This includes responsibility for monitoring and adjusting process details, data maintenance,

analysis, operational decision- making, starting and stopping equipment, client

communications, and leading the operations team in process-related and maintenance

activities. This important support function provides emergency support utilizing expertise that

allows the individual to ensure the reliable delivery of water production volumes and quality

to our important customer base.

Requirements:

• Recommend and implement EHS initiatives. Act as EHS appointee, who will correct and

speak to 7Seas, clients, local staff, contractors and visitors about EHS issues if needed.

Create a safe and environmentally friendly work environment and maintain clean/safe

workspace.

• The FS Technician provides professional service and support for our customers,

operations and engineering, by performing field service installation, startup, repairs and

maintenance of our water- and wastewater equipment. The FS Technician will work within the guidelines, established by the company (engineering and operations department)

and will follow the established procedures.

• Installation-technical consultation and installation assistance to on-site personnel and or

contractors. Startup-, consultation, startup monitoring, assist and train local staff. Perform

(routine) maintenance, Repair and rebuild equipment and systems. Troubleshoot and

determine causes of operations errors and taking action to remedy the problem(s).

Complete service reports, record repairs and maintenance performed.

• Installation expertise, calibrating, configuring, testing, maintaining, evaluating, trouble

shooting, (pre-)commissioning and repair of the Seven Seas Water equipment used. Advise

and guide local Operations if being offsite and expertise is requested.

• Act as liaison between, operations, contractors, engineering, 7Seas management and others

as needed for operations, projects and financial perspective. Work to increase company

revenue and profitability through lowering costs of operations.

• Drive project execution and serve as liaison with SSW (Seven Seas Water) Field Services and

local subcontractors, etc.

• Provide ongoing training to operators on system operations, maintenance, and safety

programs.

• Maintain continuing education through manufacturer coursework/reading manuals on the

process and equipment, preventive maintenance, rebuilding, repairing or replacement

techniques and assist in standardization and rollout of maintenance philosophy and

techniques to operators.

• Within first year in the role become skilled and proficient at troubleshooting, rebuilding,

maintaining, aligning, and assessing operational functionality of SSW equipment.

• Within first year in the role develop the skills necessary to troubleshoot, repair, or

replace electrical components and gear.


Key skills and Qualifications

• Ability to travel (minimum of 50%) and work according to a changing schedule.

• Must have a valid passport and driver’s license.

• Must be able to travel to countries in which SSW operates or is developing business without

limitation.

• If candidate resides in a Caribbean Country a Caricom Certificate is required and must be an accessible location for direct travel to other Caribbean Caricom locations.

• Self-motivated and driven and readily accepts field missions.

• Excellent time management skills.

• Written and verbal communication skills to generate clear technical reports and

recommendations.

• Mechanical and electrical skills.

• Ability to problem-solve.

• Adaptable and able to take on special tasks outside of defined role to support the ongoing SSWG

business.

• Good communication and training skills with the ability to train others of various skill levels.

• Physically fit and able to work with heavy equipment.

• Review and interpret engineering specifications, schematics, and blueprints to determine

work procedures.

• Skilled in use of computers, Microsoft Office suite of programs & general IT competent

• Able to take accurate measurements using precision instruments.

• Critical thinking to evaluate the condition of machines and their components.

• Demonstrates excellent and consistent work methods aligned with OSHA and company

specific safety rules in the spirit of continuous improvement make recommendations

concerning safety/safety procedures. Detect and correct safety violations.

• Fluent English speaker. Basic Spanish is a plus.


Education and Experience

• High school diploma (or GED) Trade School or relevant BS.

• Proven experience as a field service technician working on similar equipment.

• Relevant technical certificates, mechanical, electrical & controls and process.

• Willing to follow relevant courses.
