The Associate Engineer performs basic engineering work concerned with the design, evaluation, planning, testing and operation of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and/or computer components, equipment, and systems for commercial, government, military and/or scientific uses.  Designs, evaluates, plans, integrates, tests, and performs completion activities in engineering projects. Identifies, analyzes, and resolves program support deficiencies. Gathers and correlates basic engineering data. Performs various tests and documents results. Develops and reviews engineering drawings.  Performs various tests and documents results.  Provides assistance to higher-level engineers.  Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.  Participates in special projects as required.

REQUIRED SKILLS/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
  • 3-5 years of related engineering experience.
  • Basic knowledge of engineering principles, methods, and techniques.
  • Knowledge of the associated hardware, software, and equipment.
  • Proficient using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.
  • Proficiency in the use of basic office-related software applications, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel 1 or 2 trips per year.
     
Education: Bachelor's Degree (preferably in Electronic or Electrical Engineering (EE) or other related field), or four to eight years of work experience in a related field.
Travel Required: 10%
Work Location: San Diego, CA
This position is required to have and maintain a Secret US DoD security clearance.

PREFERRED SKILLS
Quality Management System (QMS) experience that is compatible with ISO 9001:2008.

REMARKS
Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Must be able to interface effectively with all levels of technical and management personnel.

Compensation: $36.68 - $46.59 an hour.
Compensation for positions at Centurum vary depending on a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, location, responsibilities, skill set, and level of experience.
