What you will be supporting:
DRT will provide CPIC, Enterprise Architecture, and data policy support to improve CDC IT Governance oversight, rigor and scrutiny, and to improve transparency and visibility to meet and fully comply with federal and public health requirements, policy, and guidance.

What are we looking for?
The Communications Specialist will work with a team of public health, IT governance specialists in supporting and enhancing IT strategy. The Specialist will plan, prepare, and conduct communications to increase awareness, train, and inform internal audiences on IT governance requirements, processes, and changes. Communication topics may include FITARA-related HHS IT policy/guidance, CDC Enterprise Project Lifecycle, annual IT strategic plans, and standard operating procedures.

Fun stuff you will do on the job:
• Coordinates and tracks performance of communications with cross-functional teams comprised of researchers, programmers, designers, testers, and communication specialists
• Coordinates and oversees the definition of communication project scope and objectives based on user needs, capacity, and a thorough understanding of business need and industry requirements
• Ensures communication products are delivered on schedule
• Responsible for the quality of the products; including having enough time in the schedule for clients’ review before finalization
• Collaborates with team to define product requirements, milestones, deliverables, timelines, and execution strategy
• Analyzes communications needs, documents requirements, and translates them into requirement specifications
• Writes and maintain project documentation such as meeting notes, project charters, change requests, project enhancements, and clearance documents
• Creates and maintains project schedule and progress reports
• Presents project milestones to stakeholders
• Provides innovative solutions to meet communication needs

This is you:
• Must have or be able to obtain a Public Trust with the US federal government
• At least four years of experience supporting federal government projects
• Knowledge of communication practices
• Must have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Must be well-organized, proactive, and works well in a team-setting

You will wow us even more if you have these skills:
• Recent experience with CDC environment and standards

Education & Training:
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public health, or related field
