Job Title: Assistant Professor of Strategic Communication

We are seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor of Strategic Communication to join our faculty at Georgia State University. The successful candidate will have a strong research agenda in strategic communication, with a focus on the content, development, and impact of messages.

Job Description

The Assistant Professor position is a tenure-track position with research, teaching, and service workload requirements. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a 2-2 load, including required and elective courses in the graduate and undergraduate programs. The candidate will also advise graduate students on coursework, comprehensive exams, and thesis/dissertation completion.

Requirements
  • PhD in Communication or a related field at the time of appointment
  • Strong research agenda in strategic communication, with a focus on the content, development, and impact of messages
  • Ability to teach effectively in multiple modalities
  • Knowledge and experience with various forms of instructional technology
  • Experience with service in an academic environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Quantitative or mixed methods research experience
  • Practical experience in the field of strategic communication
  • Knowledge and experience with various forms of instructional technology
  • Experience with service in an academic environment
