Location: Hybrid - Philadelphia, PA

Duration: 6 months CTH

Overview:

Our health insurance client is looking for a Business System Analyst as part of the Application Development Team for a 6 month long contract with conversion to full time possible.

This position is hybrid position onsite in Philadelphia. Candidates must work onsite in Center City Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Business Systems Analyst to join our team. This role requires extensive experience in diverse environments and applications, with a deep understanding of all major business functions and associated challenges. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading initiatives that establish industry standards, policies, and best practices. With a strong theoretical background and the ability to influence high-impact decisions, the Senior Business Systems Analyst will manage complex projects across multiple functions, drive business process improvements, and align technology solutions with business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Strategy Development:
    • Play a pivotal role in establishing standards, policies, strategies, and best practices within the organization.
    • Influence high-impact decisions and initiatives by leveraging industry knowledge and relevant case studies.
    • Formulate and define project scope and objectives based on a thorough understanding of user needs and business processes.
  • Project Management:
    • Manage a diverse and complex suite of cross-functional projects simultaneously.
    • Lead business process re-engineering efforts to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Work closely with stakeholders to identify, evaluate, and implement process improvement projects.
  • Analysis and Problem Solving:
    • Gather and analyze information to identify root causes of business problems and provide actionable recommendations.
    • Research and evaluate business issues and their relationship to technology, ensuring alignment with business goals.
    • Identify necessary process, technology, and organizational changes to support business objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Facilitate dialogue and negotiations with stakeholders at all levels to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.
    • Organize and present ideas and solutions in a convincing and compelling manner.
    • Provide consultative direction across functional areas, ensuring that business strategies and objectives are effectively supported.
  • Communication:
    • Convey complex business and system problems to stakeholders, including translating these into solution designs for technical teams.
    • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate ideas and influence outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in multiple and diverse environments and applications.
  • 5+ years of overall experience as a BSA
  • 3+ years of SQL experience possessing the ability to write complex SQL queries
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Deep knowledge and experience in all major business functions, issues, and considerations relevant to the role.
  • Proven leadership experience in establishing industry standards, policies, strategies, and best practices.
  • Strong theoretical understanding of the subject matter with the ability to influence high-impact decisions.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a diverse and complex suite of projects simultaneously.
  • Expertise in business process re-engineering and the ability to lead cross-functional project teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and address root causes of business issues.
  • Ability to effectively facilitate dialogue and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas convincingly.
  • In-depth understanding of business strategy development techniques and a process-centric approach to business analysis.
