The Retail Medical Route Driver is responsible for loading all linen carts onto an 18 ft. to 28 ft. box truck in the correct order based on their daily assigned delivery route. They must deliver the linen product to customers in a timely manner and provide excellent customer service to each customer in order to retain accounts.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Provide daily supervision of assigned drivers and monitors to ensure proper and consistent performance of duties.
  • Assist with in-service programs to assure State licensing; conduct safe driving and safe working methods and procedures training programs as specifically required.
  • Train and assist drivers and monitors concerning student behavior management issues and work-related situations.
  • Train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel.
  • Prepare and maintain a variety of driver records.
  • Cover routes as needed and change any schedules to cover routes.
  • Motivate and lead by example, retrain as needed.
  • Loads linen carts onto trucks/trailers and delivers the product to customers in a timely manner.
  • They must ensure timely delivery of clean linen, maintain a clean and organized storage area, and ensure the customer has enough linen for daily needs.
  • A full inventory of each customer must be completed, documented, and maintained on a regular basis at the direction of the Service Manager.
  • Most importantly and without exception, the Box Truck Driver operates within the legal speed limits and in a safe fashion at all times.
  • Assist transportation Manager as required.


The Ideal Candidate Must:


  • Have A valid driver's license and a valid driver’s license, meets all DOT requirements, and is physically able to perform the duties of this position.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years box truck experience and one year of team lead experience.
  • Be able to drive nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • Have strong communication and customer service skills required.
  • Must have a minimum +2 and supply a copy of their Virginia driving record upon interview.
