Job Title: Performing Arts Teacher
Karter Schools is seeking a dynamic and passionate Performing Arts Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood music education and performance-based lessons for various age groups.
Responsibilities:
- Host weekly music classes for all students at Karter Schools
- Conduct early childhood music lessons for children from infants to early preschool.
- Facilitate performance-based music lessons for children in preschool to PreK.
- Lead performing arts lessons for children in kindergarten and school age.
- Host community music events
- Baby music class
- Family/toddler music classes
Planning and Execution:
- Plan and organize musical events throughout the school year, includin
- Thanksgiving songs,
- winter concerts,
- valentine's music showcase,
- spring music showcase, end-of-the-year graduation concerts,
- school-age musicals for summer camp
- Coordinate 2-3 school-age musical programs during the school year, each lasting 30 minutes.
- Participate in music showcases at community events.
Concert Requirements:
- Ensure active participation of children in singing and dancing during concerts.
- Coordinate costumes, props, and encourage the use of backdrops for an engaging performance.
- Create programs for each concert.
- Develop and distribute flyers/posters to advertise upcoming events.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Performing Arts, Music Education, or a related field.
- Proven experience in teaching performing arts to early childhood and school-age children.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Creativity in developing engaging and age-appropriate musical programs.
