Job Summary: The Cost Accountant is responsible for overseeing cost accounting activities, ensuring accurate recording of costs, analysis of variances, and adherence to accounting standards. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and providing insights into cost management strategies.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed analysis of manufacturing costs and operational variances.
  • Implement and maintain cost accounting policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Cost Operations Director on cost management strategies.
  • Prepare and present detailed cost reports to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and industry regulations.
  • Perform reconciliations of cost accounts and general ledger.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of cost accounting principles and methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Proficient in financial software and Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in cost accounting.
  • Experience in the cannabis or manufacturing industry is a plus.
