JOB SUMMARY: *Contingent on grant funding*
This is a job that requires someone who is excited to be a part of a new and emerging technology development. The job requires someone who is committed to maintaining the highest quality of work, who wants to contribute to new developments and who is excited about this new scientific adventure, The focus of this job is to manage the administrative responsibilities of the Institute which is a diverse and demanding sets of responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Perform high-quality Branding of the Laboratory through establishing interactions and collaborations with a wide range of partners.
- Maintenance of the Institute associated website
- Maintenance of the system wide database which guide the Institute and keep it moving into FDA compliance
- Assistance with budgetary issues including but not limited to facilitating ordering of required supplies from the staff
- Maintenance of Staff schedules as well as schedule of the Director.
- Compile and enter data into the designated database system, generate reports, conduct preliminary data interpretation, design spreadsheet algorithms to automate and/or simplify data reduction, and generate and assemble tables or graphs of processed data.
- Maintain confidentiality of information (including but not limited to: student and employee personal information, student grades, etc.), both during and after their employment with the University. Any question regarding the confidentiality of material, should be referred to the supervisor. Any violation shall subject the employee to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain laboratory infrastructure as necessary.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
100% of time in administrative direction.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ten years of administrative/customer experience
- Must have core facility research knowledge
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to use discretion and good judgment in a variety of circumstances.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Working knowledge of Windows programs and applications, specialized databases pertinent to the university, and e-mail communication
- Ability to read and comprehend various forms, documentation, files and information in the department.
ERGONOMIC REQUIREMENTS:
The functions of the position usually performed sitting, but may require some amount of time standing. Some amount of stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, lifting, walking, carrying and other movements may be required. Tasks involving working on a computer keyboard, computer software applications, and calculator, involve extensive wrist and hand movements. All individuals are required to be able to perform these movements without significant risk of injury to themselves or others.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
- Master's degree
- Experience in administrative responsibilities.
- Experience in international relations
