POSITION OVERVIEW 


As an Industrial Construction Project Manager, you will oversee the full lifecycle of construction and maintenance projects for industrial and commercial facilities. Your role involves managing every aspect of the project, ensuring high-quality delivery within scope, schedule, and budgetary constraints, while upholding safety and regulatory standards. 


RESPONSIBILITIES 


  • Project Management: Lead and manage all phases of construction projects, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closeout, ensuring successful and timely delivery.
  • Contract Management: Thoroughly understand and manage customer contracts, ensuring all contractual obligations are met while addressing any out-of-scope work through formal change requests.
  • Scope and Resource Management: Define and manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and resources. Efficiently allocate and optimize resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to achieve project goals.
  • Technical Oversight: Analyze project plans, specifications, and technical requirements. Utilize Procore to manage RFIs, submittals, drawings, specifications, meetings, and change events, ensuring all technical aspects are addressed.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the project team to develop, implement, and monitor project-specific Quality Control Plans (QCPs) and Inspection & Testing Plans (ITPs). Ensure that all work meets the highest standards of quality.
  • Safety Management: Partner with the Safety Manager to develop and enforce comprehensive safety plans, including industrial safety protocols, rigging and lifting plans, and erection plans. Proactively assess and mitigate project risks.
  • Team Coordination: Work closely with the Field Operations Manager to determine labor needs and qualifications, ensuring projects are staffed efficiently and safely.
  • Procurement & Subcontracting: Coordinate with the purchasing team to issue subcontracts and purchase orders, ensuring all project-related procurement aligns with budgetary and schedule requirements.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with all project stakeholders. Provide regular updates on project status, including schedule, cost, quality, safety, and any potential changes.
  • Billing & Reporting: Submit bi-weekly billing in accordance with contract terms. Report directly to the VP of Construction, providing detailed insights on project status, including financials, customer relations, and overall progress.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring satisfaction and exploring opportunities for additional business. 


QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience managing construction projects in the heavy industrial sector.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and manage projects independently, with strong decision-making capabilities.
  • Communication & Organization: Excellent communication, organizational, and management skills, with a proven track record of effectively coordinating complex projects.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software (e.g., Procore).
  • Licensing & Certification: A valid driver's license and OSHA 30 Certification (or the ability to obtain it within the first 30 days). 


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT   

  • Requires prolonged walking, standing, sitting, bending, squatting, stooping, climbing, regular lifting and carrying to move up to 50 lbs., talking, hearing, reaching, feeling, grasping and push/pulling.  
  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions/temperatures.  
  • Regular mental and visual attention much or all the time with manual coordination.  
  • General office environment conditions.  
  • Flexibility required to travel.

RESUMEN DE LA POSICIÓN


Como Gerente de Proyectos de Construcción Industrial, supervisará el ciclo de vida completo de los proyectos de construcción y mantenimiento de instalaciones industriales y comerciales. Su función consiste en gestionar todos los aspectos del proyecto, garantizando una entrega de alta calidad dentro del alcance, el calendario y las limitaciones presupuestarias, al tiempo que se mantienen los estándares de seguridad y normativos.


RESPONSABILIDADES

  • Gestión de proyectos: Liderar y gestionar todas las fases de los proyectos de construcción, incluyendo el inicio, la planificación, la ejecución, el seguimiento, el control y el cierre, garantizando una entrega exitosa y oportuna.
  • Gestión de contratos: Comprenda y gestione a fondo los contratos de los clientes, garantizando que se cumplan todas las obligaciones contractuales mientras aborda cualquier trabajo fuera del alcance a través de solicitudes formales de cambio.
  • Alcance y gestión de recursos: Defina y gestione el alcance, el cronograma, el presupuesto, la calidad y los recursos del proyecto. Asigne y optimice eficientemente los recursos, incluida la mano de obra, los materiales y el equipo, para lograr los objetivos del proyecto.
  • Supervisión técnica: Analice los planes del proyecto, las especificaciones y los requisitos técnicos. Utilice Procore para administrar RFI, presentaciones, planos, especificaciones, reuniones y eventos de cambio, asegurándose de que se aborden todos los aspectos técnicos.
  • Aseguramiento de la calidad: Colaborar con el equipo del proyecto para desarrollar, implementar y monitorear los Planes de Control de Calidad (QCP) y los Planes de Inspección y Pruebas (ITP) específicos del proyecto. Asegurar que todo el trabajo cumpla con los más altos estándares de calidad.
  • Gestión de la seguridad: Asóciese con el gerente de seguridad para desarrollar y aplicar planes de seguridad integrales, incluidos protocolos de seguridad industrial, planes de aparejo y elevación, y planes de montaje. Evalúe y mitigue los riesgos del proyecto de manera proactiva.
  • Coordinación del equipo: Trabaje en estrecha colaboración con el Gerente de Operaciones de Campo para determinar las necesidades y calificaciones de mano de obra, asegurando que los proyectos cuenten con personal de manera eficiente y segura.
  • Adquisiciones y subcontratación: Coordine con el equipo de compras para emitir subcontratos y órdenes de compra, asegurando que todas las adquisiciones relacionadas con el proyecto se alineen con los requisitos presupuestarios y de cronograma.
  • Comunicación con las partes interesadas: Mantener una comunicación clara y efectiva con todas las partes interesadas del proyecto. Proporcione actualizaciones periódicas sobre el estado del proyecto, incluido el cronograma, el costo, la calidad, la seguridad y cualquier cambio potencial.
  • Facturación e informes: Envíe la facturación quincenal de acuerdo con los términos del contrato. Reporte directamente al Vicepresidente de Construcción, proporcionando información detallada sobre el estado del proyecto, incluidas las finanzas, las relaciones con los clientes y el progreso general.
  • Gestión de relaciones con los clientes: Construya y mantenga relaciones sólidas con los clientes, garantizando la satisfacción y explorando oportunidades para negocios adicionales.

 

CALIFICACIONES

 

  • Formación académica: Licenciatura en Gestión de la Construcción, Ingeniería Civil, Ingeniería de la Construcción o un campo relacionado, o experiencia equivalente.
  • Experiencia: Mínimo de 5 años de experiencia gestionando proyectos de construcción en el sector de la industria pesada.
  • Liderazgo: Capacidad comprobada para liderar y gestionar proyectos de forma independiente, con sólidas capacidades de toma de decisiones.
  • Comunicación y organización: Excelentes habilidades de comunicación, organización y gestión, con un historial comprobado de coordinación efectiva de proyectos complejos.
  • Competencia técnica: Dominio de Microsoft Office y software de gestión de proyectos (por ejemplo, Procore).
  • Licencia y certificación: Una licencia de conducir válida y la certificación OSHA 30 (o la capacidad de obtenerla dentro de los primeros 30 días).
