Position Summary

The Laser Alignment Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the precise alignment of various industrial components using advanced high-precision tools. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in equipment alignment, experience with laser tracking systems, and strong analytical skills for problem-solving in an industrial context. A willingness to travel and a passion for mentoring others are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize Leica laser trackers for accurate equipment alignment in industrial environments.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex metrology challenges, offering effective solutions.
  • Conduct high-precision measurements and alignment tasks with minimal oversight.
  • Maintain and calibrate laser tracking instruments to ensure peak performance.
  • Collaborate with team members, including workers, project managers, and clients, to meet project objectives and deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience operating laser trackers (Leica, Faro, API, etc.) in industrial settings.
  • Capability to operate total stations, 3D scanners, and optical theodolites.
  • Desire and ability to teach, coach, and mentor peers.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in metrology.
  • Mechanical aptitude with a firm grasp of mathematical principles.
  • Self-driven with a robust work ethic and the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Windows and MS Office applications.
  • Experience with software such as AutoCAD, Spatial Analyzer, Polyworks, Inventor, or similar CMM metrology tools is advantageous.

Physical Requirements

  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and bending.
  • Comfortable working in diverse industrial environments, which may involve exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to operate equipment in confined or elevated spaces.
