The New Orleans JCC is a state-of-the-art fitness center and pool, a leader in New Orleans early childhood education, a fun-filled summer day camp and so much more. It is a place for adults to take an exercise class, an art class, or a dance class. The role is responsible for planning, implementing, and leading programs and activities that enhance the JCC’s memory care programs for participants and their caregivers. With a strong emphasis on developing a rich curriculum of activities that stimulate participants and providing expansive opportunities to support caregivers, this position will contribute to the growth and development of the JCC’s Adult Services Department.  They will play an integral role on the adult services team by managing budgets, supervising staff, modeling leadership, and representing the JCC internally and externally.

What You'll Do:

  • Be responsible for leading all operational aspects of the ACE and Mind Matters programs, including developing engaging content and structured events, creating a positive environment where participants feel valued, and coordinating meals and snacks with the food service manager.
  • Manage outreach, enrollment, screening, intake, onboarding, and paperwork for both prospective and current participants.
  • Assist with participant care and personal hygiene as needed.
  • Regularly communicate with families and caregivers to meet the needs of program participants.
  • Manage coverage for Adult programs and assist with participant drop-off and pick-up.
  • Assist the Director with interdepartmental collaborations to improve offerings and establish relationships with other community agencies.
  • Collaborate on research grants and data collection for reports.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Department to ensure accurate billing and account management.
  • Assist the Director in ensuring that all company policies and procedures are adhered to, in addition to all licensing requirements.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to work independently and complete assignments following instructions, routines, and standard practices.
  • Supervise and train activity leaders and volunteers, as well as manage scheduling. Lead and motivate staff by clearly communicating procedures and expectations, as well as providing guidance and support to ensure their safety, high-quality programming and care, and mental stimulation.
  • Be responsible for submitting bi-weekly payroll.

What You'll Bring:

  • Master of Social Work degree, Therapeutic Recreation, Music or Art Therapy or related field experience.
  • LCSW preferred; Working knowledge of Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias highly preferred.
  • Current Adult CPR & First Aid Certification.
  • JCC or similar non-profit experience is a plus.
  • Will need to take adult CPR every 2 years.
  • Experience in organizing activities  and leading groups.
  • Excellent computer proficiency .

Monday-Friday
8am-5pm
