The Client is actively seeking experienced Superintendents with over 8 years of commercial construction experience to join our team in Greenville, SC. Our projects span a variety of sectors, including Commercial, Healthcare, Industrial, Education (Primary and Higher), Government, and Cultural Markets, focusing on small to medium-sized construction endeavors.
Position Summary
The Commercial Construction Superintendent is responsible for planning, supervising, and executing construction projects from start to finish. This role requires a strong leader capable of managing teams and ensuring project goals are met efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary interface with the Owner, representing Client professionally.
- Develop, implement, and enforce a Project-Specific Safety Plan, including daily huddles and weekly toolbox talks.
- Contribute to the preconstruction and procurement phases to create initial project schedules and execution plans.
- Supervise, manage, and mentor Assistant Superintendents, Foremen, Carpenters, and Interns.
- Attend Owner/Architect/Contractor meetings and lead Subcontractor Coordination Meetings.
- Guide the collaborative daily and weekly planning, implementation, and progress tracking process.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce a comprehensive site logistics plan.
- Coordinate subcontractor work scopes, scheduling, and material deliveries.
- Ensure compliance with insurance, safety, and labor relations requirements.
Qualifications and Skills
- A four-year degree or 8 years of construction-related experience.
- At least 5 years of Superintendent experience.
- Proven success in managing construction projects exceeding $5 million in value.
- Strong listening and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Skilled in identifying and resolving complex issues amicably.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, project management, and scheduling software.
- Strong work ethic and a proactive "can-do" attitude.
