Responsibilities

Job Summary:

Responsible for clinical operations at all sites within the subsidiary, including patient care, project management, imaging services, patient services (scheduling, etc.); may include transcription, film archiving, and couriers. Oversees all Imaging Center Managers and provides leadership and management to imaging centers. Responsible for the achievement of operational performance targets, including patient and referring physician satisfaction. Works closely with Radiologists on service delivery initiatives.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Promotes and supports the company’s Vision/Mission/Values.
  • Achieves targeted volumes for business unit.
  • Manages team members and business operations to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Remains informed and anticipates potential pitfalls in the operations and works toward timely communication and resolution of issues.
  • Prepares operating budgets and effectively analyzes performance against those budgets.
  • Effectively utilizes team members ensuring appropriate levels of productivity.
  • Manages costs and expenses appropriately.
  • Oversees financial management of the business unit.
  • Develops strategies to achieve individual and business unit goals.
  • Recommends or seeks out new business opportunities.
  • Actively promotes the practice and Radiologix in all interactions with team members and outside vendors.
  • Works to increase retention and reduce avoidable turnover.
  • Maintains employee morale and employee satisfaction at levels conducive to maintaining high productivity.
  • Sets clear and specific expectations/objectives for team members and departments.
  • Monitors and documents performance during performance periods.
  • Ensures that all performance reviews are completed, conducted and turned in on time.
  • Recognizes and provides coaching, counseling, and discipline as appropriate.
  • Provides team members with support and motivation.
  • Exhibits objectivity and openness to other’s views; demonstrates ability to balance team and individual responsibilities.
  • Promotes flexibility in staff utilization across teams and departments.
  • Delegates work appropriately and follows through to ensure optimal results.
  • Provides team members development opportunities as appropriate.
  • Adheres to all OSHA regulations, RGX practices and generally accepted safety protocols.
  • Displays willingness and ability to make tough decisions.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment.
  • Integrates changes smoothly.
  • Responds professionally under pressure.
  • Actively promotes the practice and Radiologix in all interactions with team members and outside vendors.
  • Engages in succession planning by identifying and mentoring a future Director.
  • Responsible for project management and ensures that all renovations to existing and new facilities are completed on time and on budget.
  • Advocates change to maximize effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

  • Understands how external forces in the healthcare industry affect operations and revenues.
  • Able to exercise a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and decision-making to achieve department and organizational objectives.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to share information effectively and provide appropriate direction to team members.
  • Ability to delegate responsibility and authority to team members.
  • Ability to maintain proactive relationship with referring physicians.
  • Knowledge of state and federal health and safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of developing budgets.
  • General computer skills and Microsoft Office knowledge.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills in interactions with peers in senior management.
  • Maintains a “Team” mentality within Clinical Operations and as a member of senior management.

Education & Experience Requirements:

The above knowledge, skills and abilities may be demonstrated by a four-year degree in business administration or health care administration; six plus years of experience in the radiology service industry; being a certified technologist; and management experience.
