Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Title: Electrical Material HandlerJob Overview: The Electrical Material Handler is responsible for managing and organizing electrical materials and supplies within a warehouse or distribution center. This role involves receiving, storing, and distributing materials, ensuring inventory accuracy, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of electrical components and systems, strong organizational skills, and the ability to operate various types of warehouse equipment.Key Responsibilities:
  1. Receiving and Inspection:
  • Receive electrical materials and components from suppliers and vendors.
  • Inspect incoming shipments for damage, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Document and report any discrepancies or quality issues to the supervisor.
  1. Inventory Management:
  • Organize and store electrical materials in designated areas, ensuring proper handling and protection.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using manual or computerized systems.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure stock levels are accurate and up-to-date.
  1. Material Distribution:
  • Prepare and package materials for distribution to internal departments or external clients.
  • Coordinate with other departments to fulfill material requests and ensure timely delivery.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems to track and manage material movements.
  1. Equipment Operation:
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on warehouse equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  1. Safety and Compliance:
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including those related to electrical material handling and storage.
  1. Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of material receipts, distributions, and inventory levels.
  • Generate and submit reports on inventory status, material usage, and any issues encountered.
  • Assist in preparing reports for audits and inventory assessments.
  1. Customer Service:
  • Provide excellent service to internal and external customers by ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of material requests.
  • Address and resolve any issues or concerns related to material handling and distribution.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in electrical systems or materials handling is a plus.
  • Proven experience in material handling, preferably in an electrical or industrial setting.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills, including experience with inventory management software.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials.
  • Stand, walk, and perform manual labor for extended periods.
