Job Summary

The Engineering Technician 2 assists in maintenance and repair in areas of electrical, structure buildup and teardown, and building maintenance at the applicable CRVA venue.

  1. Essential Job Duties

  • May assist in leading maintenance and repair projects at applicable CRVA venue.
  • Works with supervisor to ensure all setup is done to meet client expectations.
  • Teardown shows and cleans up areas for next scheduled event.
  • Maintains all equipment in facility that is part of the heating and cooling systems.
  • Ensures proper light set up prior to all events.
  • Coordinates with vendors on facility floor to ensure accuracy of detailed floor plans.
  • Assist other engineering staff with painting, carpentry, dry wall repair, etc.
  • May perform other duties as required.

Scope of Responsibility

  • This job has no budgetary responsibilities.
  • This job will have periodic access to confidential data including customer quotes and product costs.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in multiple disciplines preferred, including but not limited to:
  • Electrical
  • Plumbing
  • HVAC
  • Ice Technician
  • Carpentry/Painting
  • Mechanical Trades (doors, locks, alarm systems, etc.)
  • Ability to maintain adherence to quality, safety, and the timely completion of assigned projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to foster and work well within a team environment.
  • Strong commitment to customer service and always maintaining a professional atmosphere.
  • Ability to anticipate customer needs, builds positive relationships with customers and vendors, goes the extra mile to satisfy and exceed customer needs, treats all customers and vendors with highest degree of respect and courtesy and delivers exceptional service to internal and external customers.

Education and Experience

  • A High School Diploma and a minimum of 4 years of HVAC schooling or related experience or training is required.
  • Level 2 technicians should be able to operate effectively with limited supervision. An appropriate license or professional certification is strongly preferred for Level 2 technicians. Level 2 technicians may also demonstrate a high level of proficiency in multiple disciplines listed below:

Areas of expertise for the Venue Engineering programs may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Electrical– Works with electrical system from 480 volts up to 600 volts.
  • Plumbing Knowledge of commercial fixtures and all accessories.
  • HVAC (boilers and chillers)
  • Knowledge of Metasys building automation system
  • Ice Technician
  • Carpentry/Painting
  • Mechanical Trades (doors, locks, alarm systems, etc.)

Physical Demands

  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.
  • The employee must regularly use power hand tools.

Work Environment

  • The noise level in the work environment could vary depending on the setting.

Travel Required

  • This job requires travel between local venues.
