The Production Lead – Spray Dry creates blended flavor batch formulations composed of liquid and powder ingredients through efficient and safe operation of machinery and strict adherence to all employee and food safety standards. In addition, the Production Lead will assist the Operations Supervisor with oversight of Production Operators. Interacts with Planning, Quality Control, Shipping and Receiving, Maintenance, Management, Rabbis for Kosher approval, and internal and external Auditors. Key competencies: Reasoning and Analytical Skills, Communication and Presentation Skills, Knowledge of Supply Chain Activities, Mathematical Skills including Weights and Conversions, Computer Skills, 5S Lean Manufacturing Practices, and Leadership and Development Skills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain strict adherence to equipment SOPs, GMP standards, food & flavor regulations (Kosher), and documentation requirements.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including use of engineering controls and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure a safe workplace for all employees.
  • Accurately weigh and document ingredients used in all production batches.
  • Utilize equipment and facility computer programs to effectively maintain process and material data related to manufacturing requirements.
  • Accurately weigh, package, label, and organize manufactured product to ensure effective shipping and stock management according to customer requirements.
  • Thoroughly clean, sanitize, and organize workspaces and shared facility areas as directed to maintain an efficient and high-quality manufacturing operation and environment.
  • Actively participate in periodic training sessions to increase understanding of, and abilities related to, safety, quality, productivity, materials, and equipment operation.
  • Assure all GMP rules are properly followed, including personal hygiene, trash removal, etc.
  • Complete and submit prescribed daily and/or weekly checklists of key facility equipment and utilities to ensure consistent and effective operation of manufacturing processes.
  • Provide support and guidance to other operators by accessing established operating protocols, coaching, and seeking direction from management or technical personnel.
  • Become certified in all Production positions.
  • Responsible for oversight of 2 Spray Dry Operators.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have achieved a minimum of Ops 4 Level in Spray Dry.
  • 2+ years Lead experience and 3+ years experience working with manufacturing strategies and systems preferred.
  • Flavor industry desired, i.e., liquid compounding and / or powder blending.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
