Jessup Manufacturing Company is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to join our team in Lake Bluff, IL, with support in McHenry, IL.

The Human Resources Specialist plays a crucial role in administering various HR functions and supporting the overall HR strategy of the company, ensuring a prominent level of service to employees across the company.

The primary focus will be overseeing the full cycle of talent acquisition for non-exempt employees, including job postings, recruitment and sourcing of qualified candidates, resume screening, coordination of hiring manager interviews, background screenings, and onboarding requirements. The HR Specialist will work in conjunction with the Director of Human Resources, as well as all departments and company personnel to meet day-to-day operation and strategic goals of the organization.


Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, pre-screens, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions, collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Conducts or acquires refence checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Conducts new hire onboarding and processes all new hire paperwork and requirements.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to, compensation, benefits, development and training tracking, out-boarding paperwork.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices, reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Processes employees into ADP, including set-up of new employees, including personal information, pay information, and separation dates for terminated employees.
  • Assists with maintaining employee and corporate files.
  • Assists with employee relations and culture building events
  • Performs administrative duties that are requested by members of management
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects operations by keeping human resource information confidential Coordinates Performance management tracking for timely reviews

Requirements:

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and Confidentiality
  • Thorough knowledge of employment related laws and regulations
  • Experience with administering payroll, ADP experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Bilingual Englisih/Spanish preferred
  • Willingness to wear many hats and pivot when business needs change

Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree in applicable field, or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of experience in Human Resource operations, and talent acquisition required

*Up to 20% commuting between Lake Bluff and McHenry
