The opportunity.
The supply division of Star® Roses and Plants is seeking a team member to join us in providing supply chain support to our supplier vendors, territory sales managers, and customer service representatives.
As the Supplier Chain Relations Specialist II, you play a vital role in connecting our internal operations to our external supplier partners. You are assigned to suppliers and are responsible for communicating booked orders and order changes to them using SAP transactions. You also support our sales team by entering your suppliers’ product inventories into SAP and communicating shipment delays and cancellations. Both groups will rely on your excellent communication and accurate data management to ensure the healthiest supply chain possible. If you’re familiar with SAP, that’s a great start
You will create and manage shipment and billing reports, provide support to the Supply Chain Operations Manager and CSRs, and generally assist the supply division as needed.

In fact, a large part of succeeding in this position relies on your ability to build and maintain a close working relationship with external suppliers as well as internal colleagues at all levels of the company, from our CSRs, to our sales team, to our Director of Supply Management. You’re also a proactive problem solver and are happy to work with your colleagues to improve processes.
A few logistics.
You can expect a normal office work environment. This includes sitting, standing, bending, reaching, a normal range of hearing and vision, and ability to lift up to 20 pounds. You’ll need manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment. Travel requirements are minimal (0–10%) to visit assigned suppliers and attend sales team meetings.

- Associate degree or equivalent experience in vendor relations, sales and/or horticulture required.
- Minimum 3 years of customer service, operations or vendor relations experience is preferred.
- Intermediate experience with SAP system preferred.
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
- Ability to understand the supply chain and make appropriate decisions and recommend changes based upon that knowledge and judgment.
- Ability to solve problems and make decisions in accordance with company goals and guidelines.
- Ability to manage different opinions and requests while striving for continual improvement.
- Exceptional communication skills with an ability to develop and maintain relationships.
- Effective time management and organization that enables you to meet customer requests as well as individual, team, and company objectives.
- Proven ability to work independently and perform work in accordance with team, departmental, and company goals.
- Attention to detail coupled with strong numerical computation, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
