Role and Responsibilities
· Work directly with customers to ensure effective and efficient F&S Service solution delivery.
· Understand and manage the F&S Service agreement deliverables and timelines established between the Company and the Customer.
· Support F&S Field Technicians and F&S Team Leader by providing technical advice and offering guidance.
· Provide remote and/or on-site technical direction and diagnostic assistance to resolve complex failures within the customer base.
· Ensure the highest possible quality of work by reviewing and supporting field technician’s work.
· Coordinate with and support sales to assemble service project scope and pricing.
· Assist in scheduling, organizing, and dispatching F&S Service Technicians.
· Verify that field reporting and documentation are accurate and timely.
· Evaluate area safety needs/requirements to provide feedback and recommendations to F&S service technicians and assist in the implementation of safety policies, procedures, and training.
· Mentor F&S Service Technicians and F&S Team Leader on complex fire alarm and security systems.
· Conduct extensive self-study (reading, research, and practice) to improve and maintain technical proficiency in the Company's supported product lines. Complete certifications as required by the Company.
· Work with Operations Leader to effectively manage F&S Service needs across the Company Service Territory.
· Work with Operations Leadership to ensure effective utilization of technicians’ labor and overall positive growth and quality control.
· Implement training programs on supported/installed fire alarms and security systems to support an efficient service operation.
· Work with the F&S Team Leader to effectively manage on-call assignments.
· Work with Operations Leadership to continuously evaluate staff for training requirements to ensure team efficiency and clear/effective communication with customers.
· Participate in the periodic and annual staff performance evaluations for operational excellence (Utilization, profitability, etc.).
· Participate with respective Operations Leadership in new F&S Service contract transition meetings with Sales.
· Position is approximately a 25% Billable role.
· Other such duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Company from time to time.
Qualifications and Requirements
· A successful candidate must possess a minimum of 5 years of Fire Alarm systems service in Commercial and/or Industrial facilities.
· Strong communication skills.
· Strong work ethic.
· Business planning and decision-making skills.
· Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.
· Regular local travel requirements with some overnight travel.
· Solid problem-solving skills.
· High sense of urgency.
· Proficiency in one or multiple Fire Alarm and Security systems that may include any of the major manufacturing systems.
· Experience in a service-related business is preferred.
· Leadership and team-building capabilities are required.
· Proficient with all Microsoft Office related products.
· Physical Demands: Constant sitting, walking short distances, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching above and/or below shoulder, handling/grasping documents or office equipment, clear speaking and adequate hearing sufficient to communicate effectively and respond appropriately in-person and/or on the telephone, vision sufficient to read source materials and computer screen data, repetitive motions for computer equipment use, lift 25 lbs. occasionally, 5-10 lbs frequently to lift/carry/move objects, files and documents.
· Material Handling: Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. and constant lifting up to 25 lbs., placing this position in the very heavy physical demand classification (PDC).
· Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.
· Must successfully pass a background check & drug test.
· High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
· NICET Cetification preferred.
Work Environment: Work is performed in an office environment with air conditioning and bright lights.
