Euclid, United States Tylok International Inc. Full time
Job DescriptionJob Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Process Engineer to join the Tylok team.

OUR Mission:

Tylok manufactures instrumentation & tube fittings, valves & associated products, and medical gas fittings & valves. We offer the flexibility and familiarity of a family-owned company that is just the right size: solid and well established (now in our 68th year), yet so personal that everyone is on a first-name basis. At Tylok, we recognize individual contributions to team success.

THIS ROLE:

As a Process Engineer, you will play a crucial role in creating programs for CNC equipment (including Swiss CNC), developing machining processes for new products, and driving continuous improvements for quality, safety, and cost reductions. You will specify tooling and demonstrate a capable machining process. Additionally, you will provide collaborative cross functional communication between departments and will apply you knowledge and experience to innovate and improve machining processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create G-code CNC programs for various CNC machine tools, such as lathes, Swiss machines, and Hydromat rotary transfer machines, using Espirit CAM software and some manual G-code programming.
  • Specify and procure cutting tools and fixtures to be used in machining components.
  • Create setup sheets, procedures, and documentation for the manufacturing process.
  • Communicate/work with stakeholders, such as supervisors, production workers, other Tylok departments, vendors, and customers.
  • Define tasks, estimate completion dates, and communicate accurately the status of job orders and projects.
  • Program machine tools and operate the equipment for test cuts and program prove out.
  • Generate CNC machining programs for new machine tools and for new products.
  • Resolve safety, environmental, and ergonomic issues.
  • Drive process, quality, cost, and optimization improvements through the use of Lean Six Sigma tools.
  • Evaluate and implement suggestions.
  • Perform cost analyses and drive cost reductions.
  • Provide shop support and develop manufacturing processes for new products.
  • Create and modify BOM's and routings.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of Tylok's strategic and continuous improvement initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A combination of education and experience, such as:
    • Appropriate university degree (Bachelor's or Associate's) or vocational training PLUS a minimum of 8 years of advanced machining experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of CNC programming experience of machining processes, including Swiss machining.
  • Proficiency in implementing production machining processes and tooling.
  • Proficiency in generating G-code CNC programs using CAM software (Espirit proficiency a plus) and operating machinery for program prove out and test cuts. Proficiency in programming G-code manually. Understands machining processes from reading G-code.
  • Proficiency in the machining trade, including hands on machining as required and measuring machined parts. Must be demonstrated by performance of such duties.
  • Strong skills in gathering and analyzing data in order to make the optimal fact-based decisions.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and solving machining problems.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to handle a variety of assignments, changing priorities, and work schedules.
  • Able to work effectively with staff from all levels of the organization, including the shop staff.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong PC skills (MS Office applications, such as Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • The flexibility/adaptability to work effectively and efficiently, whether working independently, cross functionally, or in a team setting.
  • Proficiency in print reading. GD&T and 3D CAD proficiency a plus.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., walk, and stand for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to see, hear, and speak in order to communicate with associates, vendors, customers, etc.
