Description        


The Guest Experience Coordinator ensures that guests and regular attenders experience a comfortable and inviting environment at Plainfield Christian Church, with primary responsibilities being on Sundays. As the Guest Experience Coordinator you will innovate, plan for and execute a clear plan for a consistent, relationally-focused experience for first time guests and families visiting Plainfield Christian Church. His or her skill set should enable him or her to train and lead the team of volunteers. The Experience Coordinator will partner with the NextGen and Adult Ministries Teams, and report to the Impact Director.

 

Duties/Responsibilities

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Innovate, plan for, and execute a clear, consistent and relationally-focused first-time guest experience with a clear next step for visitors. This is to be done in all areas of the building.
  • Communicate clear and concise vision for the Sunday Morning Experience Team volunteers.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and recognize volunteers for experience serving teams.
  • Schedule volunteers for Children’s Center, Pier 14 Student Center, Foyer welcome desk, door greeters, worship venue, and Worship Venue entrances.
  • Solicit and evaluate feedback from first-time guests and unchurched members of our community to improve the guest experience at Sunday services.
  • Stock Welcome Centers with guest-oriented information and gifts.
  • Facilitate follow-up with first-time guests to help connect them with their next step.
  • Create and decorate warm, inviting spaces for an engaging guest experience. This includes seasonal decorations for holidays like Easter, Mother’s Day, and Christmas.
  • Create signage to ensure that the church building and grounds are easy to navigate for guests.
  • Oversee connection areas including the Foyer, Hub, and coffee area.
  • Oversee the Coffee Ministry
  • Organize volunteer teams for other church-wide events such as Christmas Eve services.

  • The majority of first time guest and families successfully integrate into the life of PCC.
  • Serving teams and team leaders are properly equipped, trained, and developed.
  • An energetic serving culture exists for serving teams.
  • An inviting & comfortable culture exists for guest and families at PCC.
  • A healthy, mutually beneficial relationship exists between Guest Experience Director and other staff.

  • Motivated and capable of planning, organizing, prioritizing, scheduling, coordinating, and completing work tasks and projects in a timely manner.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A leader who multiplies himself or herself through effective recruitment, training, development, and empowering of volunteers.

Supervisory Responsibilities


The Guest Experience Coordinator leads volunteer teams on Sunday mornings and for other events.

 

Education and Experience


The ideal candidate will have a 4-year college degree or equivalent training and at least 3 years experience serving in a similar role.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and to use sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer equipment. Requires light physical work typically associated with an office environment. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers. Requires speaking and hearing ability to communicate in person and over the phone.
