We are seeking an AmeriCorps Seniors Program Coordinator to be responsible providing advocacy, support, and referral information to assist volunteers, clients, community partners (stations) to be engaged in the community and remain independent. Responsibilities also include recruitment and conducting interviews/orientations, matching volunteers with the right opportunities, and for providing assistance with any issues that may arise during the match and continue to support both the volunteers and host sites throughout the entire process.
Duties and Essential Functions:
Coordinate and monitor project activities, including recruitment, in-service training, supervisory arrangements, and other activities in cooperation with the Volunteer Center Program Manager and appropriate volunteer station staff.
Maintain accurate volunteer information in the Volunteer Database and compile and verify AmeriCorps Seniors stipend and travel reimbursement for submission to the Volunteer Center Program Manager for approval.
Enhance the total project effort through active involvement with community organizations, other national service programs, and other senior and volunteer programs.
Travel to area senior centers, schools and other local community sites as necessary.
Provide information and support to AmeriCorps Seniors staff specialists and volunteers.
Assess appropriateness and performance of volunteer stations.
Attend training conferences conducted or authorized by AmeriCorps Seniors as funding allows.
Specific supervisory practices vary from project to project and derive from project oversight obligations identified in the Memorandum of Understanding and in individual volunteer assignment plans. Examples are: a) Clarifying with volunteer stations the arrangements for days and hours of service and the agreed-upon activities defined in the Memorandum of Understanding. b) Making periodic site visits to volunteer stations and in-home sites to monitor the satisfaction of the AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers with their assignments and the progress of clients/students in reaching established objectives; determining, in coordination with the volunteer station, whether or not the services of the AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers are appropriate to the client/student needs or whether the volunteer should be reassigned.

Qualifications Include:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Knowledge and experience working with low income, culturally diverse, and at-risk families and individuals.
2 years related experience strongly preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of community resources available to low-income individuals and families.
Excellent customer service, organizational, oral and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient computer skills required in basic computer software and data collection systems.
Ability to travel to various local sites.
Excellent crisis management skills.
Ability to maintain accurate records and confidentiality of information.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to have re-occurring access to vulnerable populations.
Ability to successfully pass background checks as required by CTI and the Senior Corps regulations.
Strong ability to problem-solve.
Ability to work collaboratively and build partnerships.
Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) preferred.
The ability to work flexible hours including some evenings, an occasional Saturday, and to travel to local community sites in the area.
Ability to work effectively with and meet the needs of people from a diverse range of backgrounds, cultures, and identities, including underserved communities and people from the different racial groups, socioeconomic statuses, nationalities, and languages that make up CTI's clientele.
