Job Purpose:

Directs the functions and operations of the Human Resources aspect of daily operational needs; overseeing the administration of hiring, retention efforts, investigations, employee records, compliance, compensation, benefits, employee relations and training/development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Ø Responsible for directing and managing the day-to-day group health, dental, vision, short-term, long term, ADA, FMLA and worker’s compensation programs.

Ø Serves as the 401(k) Plan Administrator. These duties include verifying disbursement requests for separated employees as well as verifying payroll contributions and company match.

Ø Ensures that investigations are well documented and termination decisions are not arbitrary or discriminatory.

Ø Manages recruitment efforts for all exempt, nonexempt personnel, and temporary employees. Approves job advertisements. Maintains company organization charts.

Ø Works with management to set long-term staffing goals and strategies.

Ø Ensures legal compliance with all applicable local state and federal employment laws, including but not limited to FLSA, FMLA and ADA to minimize risk/exposure to the company.

Ø Serves as a strategic business driver with credibility as a trusted advisor and confidant to senior management.

Ø Evaluates reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals and recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.

Ø Maintains direct involvement in significant organizational change and transformation initiatives.

Ø All other necessary duties required of the position or requested by Management.

Ø Participate in enterprise-wide taskforce initiatives; monitoring processes and ensuring accurate maintenance of employee files and the HRIS database.

Ø Manages unemployment and workers compensation claims.

Ø Train and mange HR personnel who may assist with administrative portions of the benefits processes.

Ø Oversee the scheduling, assignments, and daily workflow of staff reporting directly in to this role.

Ø Assist in the creation of operating procedures, process workflows and training frontline leadership.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers' compensation, Medicare, COBRA, Social Security and DOL requirements;
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of employee benefit programs, and oversee annual enrollment;
  • Contract negotiations with third party vendors;
  • Organization and operational policies and procedures;

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related field, with seven (7+) years of experience of progressive human resources and benefits experience. (Master’s degree preferred)

Licensing and Certifications:

  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP or equivalent certification highly preferred.
