The Inventory Control Assistant is and entry-level position responsible for assisting the Inventory Control Supervisor in adequately evaluating and tracking the inflow and outflow of product and supplies ensuring organizational needs are assessed and met. This position requires strong time management, critical thinking, negotiation, and communication skills.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assisting in a variety of inventory and data input duties, including issuing parts to requestors, while maintaining accurate number of outgoing and incoming parts.
  • Perform inventory counts and update ERP system with parts consumption and maintenance data for tracking parts used and work performed on equipment.
  • Assist maintenance department in controlling parts and inventory, data input and maintaining maintenance records for cost tracking.
  • Experience in maintenance and operations support, with the ability to learn ERP systems to improve inventory control and parts management.
  • Completes requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items
  • Prepares orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes.
  • Unload merchandise from the trucks and check to ensure that they match with the delivery documents such as the bill of lading, shipping invoice or delivery note.
  • Verify that the goods are intact and report any defects.
  • Perform inventory counts and place request for low stock items.
  • Maintains the upkeep of the inventory room.
  • Conduct weekly cycle 10% counts
  • Input data into ERP system with information provided updating work orders and Inventory.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat.
  • Contributes to team effort by informing of low stock and other problems in data input.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Bilingual – Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Competency in the use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all internal departments.
  • Excellent attention to detail, solid organizational skills, the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and manage inventory count.
  • Equipment maintenance and forklift experience a plus.
  • Responds promptly to staff needs.
  • Speaks positively, listens, and seeks clarification.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work in a non-climate control warehouse daily to identify and examine products and interface with vendors, customers, and delivery drivers.
  • This position may require limited travel throughout assigned territories. Any business-related travel will be reimbursed through company.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the daily duties of this job, anticipate prolonged periods of standing, reaching, bending, walking, bending, kneeling, moving about the facility, and regular periods of sitting at a desk looking at the computer screen.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and comply with OSHA standards
  • Must be able to adapt to traditional warehouse environment, frequent exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors.
  • Safety glasses and ear plugs, or ventilation masks maybe required while performing specific tasks.
