The Dispatcher will oversee daily inventory management and logistics functions.

Essential Functions

  1. Responsible for collecting and reporting weekly driver commissions and supplemental earnings to payroll.
  2. Works with internal Safety Director to ensure ITFTA safety compliance is met.
  3. Schedules and monitors routine vehicle maintenance and safety compliance through digital software.
  4. Collaborates with Human Resources department to coordinate DOT and FMCSA compliance scheduling with Drivers.
  5. Schedules shipments to ensure delivery by promised deadlines.
  6. Receives orders and assigns shipments to appropriate carriers.
  7. Monitors inventory via an enterprise resource planning system or similar control system.
  8. Assists customer service representatives with order status inquiries and special customer needs.
  9. Communicates with Drivers, customers, and sales team to properly resolve delivery problems.
  10. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional retail environment. This role routinely uses standard office

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is primarily sedentary but will occasionally be required to stand or balance when conducting onsite training, as well as walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. This employee requires full range of motion of arms and legs and requires movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity and coordination. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, expected to work 45 hours per week. Days and hours can change at the discretion of the Store Manager or Regional Director; though typical hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some Saturday hours are necessary throughout the harvesting season (March-September, 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.).

Travel

This position may require up to 10% travel time

Required Education and Experience

  1. 2+ years of scheduling, dispatch, or related communications experience.
  2. CDL Experience
  3. Proficient in Logistics Software
  4. Exceptional interpersonal, customer service, leadership, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication, and conflict resolution skills
  5. Must be 18 years of age or older.
  6. Pre-employment background check and drug screening required.

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Experience with turfgrass sod and seed in a retail setting.
  2. Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred but not required.
  3. Proficient in CRM software (HubSpot, SingleOps)
