Overview

As our General Superintendent, there is no typical day. You will be tasked with performing a wide variety of duties and responsibilities in an efficient, timely and accurate manner in an environment that is fast paced and ever changing to meet the needs of our business. The General Superintendent’s primary responsibility is to provide field leadership and training to all members of assigned Squad-Team while maximizing crew efficiency and profitability and completing all assigned construction projects while following all safety protocols, building a high quality project, meeting timelines and being within budget. Responsibilities

  • The GS coordinates crew logistics and leave with operational requirements while working directly with Scheduler, PM, Client and PDE.
  • The GS shall coordinate work and communications between Squad-Teams, departments, and Divisions as necessary.
  • The GS shall ensure each crew is installing products according to the job drawings, project worksheet, and/or the GSI Standard Operating Procedures.
  • The GS shall monitor and verify quality of the installed product.
  • The GS shall maintain and improve Owner, General Contractor, Engineer and Vendor relations.
  • The GS is responsible for the training, mentoring, coaching, development, and performance of the crews assigned to their Squad-Team.
  • The GS shall support and fully implement GSI’s safety program and culture.
  • The GS shall complete a minimum of one (1) Top-10 Safety Inspection each week.
  • The GS shall continuously seek opportunities to improve our standard practices to create a more safe work environment.
  • The GS is responsible for tracking Squad-Team equipment status, maintenance priorities, and field equipment maintenance training.
  • The GS shall be the Squad-Team expert on equipment specifications, limitations, and production rates and be available to explain them to Supers, Estimators, Sales, clients, or other.

Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of experience with geohazard mitigation and at least 5 years of experience managing teams.
  • Previous Project Manager Experience helpful.
  • Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills that provide the ability to effectively interact with, and be respected by, all levels of personnel.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • High level of comfort with changing technologies and understanding of MS Office products.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
