SUMMARY

The MRO Parts Coordinator purchases, stores, inventories, and issues all MRO (Maintenance Repair & Operating) Supplies. They interact with CPC and CPB internal departments and vendors to coordinate the delivery of MROs to ensure adequate stock of hand tools, machine tools, dies, parts, materials, and equipment for both sites by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establishes and maintains strong, transparent, and effective working relationships between maintenance & facilities, manufacturing, R&D, finance, internal support, regulatory groups, and CPC/CPB customers related to assigned duties
  • Takes part in, or leads, continuous improvement initiatives to maximize parts inventory program efficiency for both CPC and CPB sites. These initiatives include, but are not limited to parts availability improvements, obsolete parts/materials identification, and removal; or inventory/cost improvement programs for all spare parts, consumables, and laboratory supplies
  • Procures MRO supplies and spare parts based on re-order report and/or material reservations using existing contracts
  • Authorizes payment of invoices or return of merchandise
  • Responsible for inventory cost and for development and control of consumables/open stock account, and laboratory supplies
  • Tracks, maintains, and purchases inventory of free stock material that are not vendor managed
  • Issues spare parts, tools, and equipment to workers; and maintains records of items issued and returned
  • Unpacks and stores incoming spare parts, tools, and equipment
  • Compares invoices against requisitions to verify quality and quantity of merchandise received
  • Keeps record of parts received and issued, and inventories parts in storeroom, periodically
  • Works with Purchasing to qualify new vendors and materials, by gathering and evaluating specification information

LEADERSHIP & BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES

Incumbent is responsible for tracking and assisting in the development of the Parts Crib budget (both CPC and CPB); and will receive direction and priority of assignments from the Manager of Maintenance, I&E, and Facilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 3 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidate should have a strong background working with SAP and Microsoft Office Suite.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
