Position Purpose:
The Content Specialist will be responsible for executing a comprehensive content strategy across all NICB channels addressing key audiences. They will serve as a creative storyteller ensuring messaging is consistent with NICB guidelines, values, and mission. The Content Specialist will develop and promote the company brand, services, and products by creating a personal and connected view of NICB, our people and those we serve.
Work Arrangement and Description:
This is a hybrid position and the Reporting Location is NICB Headquarters (Oak Brook, IL). The individual will be provided with the privilege and flexibility to work away from NICB Headquarters, but will be required to report periodically in-person based upon business needs, subject to the discretion of their supervisor, and in compliance with NICB's rules and procedures.
Competencies/Duties:
- Advance NICB’s strategic goals and secure NICB’s position as the insurance fraud and theft thought leader through content production for, but not limited to, social media, campaign emails, website, presentations, print promotional and educational materials, signage, external partner articles, and newsletters.
- Help tell the NICB story through experiences of NICB employees, member companies, and the customers of those member companies.
- Work with subject matter experts throughout NICB to bring fraud services, programs, reports, and stories to NICB members, partners and the public.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements/Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communications, with the ability to write for a variety of platforms, including social media channels, and to extract impactful video storylines from interviews.
- Highly organized to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Self-starter with the ability to take a project from start to finish.
- Flexible work style; able to work independently or within a team.
- Ability to interact successfully with a wide variety of people on all levels.
- Experience translating technical material into audience-appropriate language required.
- Knowledge of communication, marketing and social media trends required.
- Experience creating or optimizing web content using Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices preferred.
Education, Work Experience, Licensure:
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or related field required.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as writer or content creator for a business, corporation, organization, or agency.
- Experience in the insurance industry or government sectors preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Contacts:
This position interacts with NICB employees, leaders and agents, and connects with member companies, law enforcement, and strategic partners.
Environment/Physical Demands:
- At home and standard office environment
- Some travel may be required; less than 10 percent.
- Lift/move equipment up to 50 pounds.
Salary Range and Statement:
The salary range for this position is $50,000 to $62,000. Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors including the specific requirements for this position, the candidate's geographic location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
