Part-time, up to 25 hours per week. This position will remain open until filled, or at the discretion of Great Bay Community College.

CCSNH has established employer status within the New England states (Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island). In compliance with CCSNH policies and state regulations, eligibility for employment within CCSNH and its institutions requires residency within a New England state.

SCOPE OF WORK: Coordinates all aspects of the 180-hour culinary training program and associated non-credit culinary workshops with responsibility for overseeing curriculum development and program instructors, scheduling, supply/equipment inventory, engaging with employers for job placement, tracking student progress such as completion and job success. This position reports to the Director of Workforce Development at Great Bay Community College.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Coordinates the culinary program and associated courses. Develops, implements and evaluates curricula set forth by accrediting or professional agencies, maintains and updates course/program documents.
  • Recruits, hires, and manages qualified instructors to teach program courses.
  • Oversees student admissions process and ensures program meets enrollment targets.
  • Monitors student attendance, progress, and success in the classroom setting and provides career and job placement assistance to prepare students for employment.
  • Compiles and analyzes data on program metrics (completion rates, placement rates, etc.)
  • Identifies areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance program quality including recommending additional curricula, course delivery, and program activities in the culinary field.
  • Manages the program budget and resources efficiently.
  • Acts as liaison with external classroom site
  • Participates in and supports operations by assisting with marketing strategies, cultivating relationships with business and industry, workforce boards, apprenticeship team and educational partners.
  • Assists with development and implementation of college sponsored recruitment activities including career and job fairs, student orientations, registrations and award ceremonies.
  • Complies with all system, college, state and federal rules and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with a major in education, business management, culinary arts, hospitality management, or related field.

Experience: Two (2) years' professional experience in the field of restaurant/hospitality or workforce development with responsibility for training, program planning, development, delivery or evaluation.

Valid driver's license or access to statewide transportation.

RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Knowledge of training/teaching methods and materials, and curriculum development, and course/program evaluation. Considerable knowledge of the industry standards, occupational requirements, and placement strategies within the culinary field. Knowledge of educational standards and procedures. Ability to work with and secure the cooperation of others. Ability to maintain records of the participant progress and development. Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and as a member of the workforce development department/team. Ability to handle matters with diplomacy and to maintain confidentiality, as appropriate. Ability to exercise professional judgment and proper decision-making. Must be willing to maintain an appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college appointing authority.
