PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Primarily responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and the 401(k) plan. Additionally, supports the payroll specialist by partnering each pay period to double-check for accuracy and filling in during the absence of the payroll specialist, ensuring seamless payroll processing for the family of companies.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

· Extensive knowledge of employee benefits, payroll, and applicable laws.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Excellent organizational and time management skills.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

· Must adhere to high standards of confidentiality and honesty.

· Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field of study required.

· Two years’ experience in HR, payroll, and/or benefits administration preferred.

· SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification credential preferred.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Benefits:

· Administer and oversee all employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and 401(k) plans.

· Ensure the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS, performing quality checks of benefits-related data.

· Respond to benefits inquiries from managers and employees regarding plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes, and other general inquiries.

· Prepare and code employee benefit monthly invoices for payment. Prepare check requests for premium payments, parking fees, bus passes, etc.

· Investigate and resolve discrepancies with employees and benefits carriers, providing necessary information for routine situations.

· Assist in the implementation of benefit plan changes, including new hire orientations, open enrollment periods, and qualifying life status changes.

· Manage and administer all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork, including medical, personal, disability, and FMLA.

· Effectively interpret and apply FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences and disabilities.

· Respond to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees related to enrollments, plan changes, and contribution amounts, managing the annual catch-up contribution enrollment.

· Generate and provide necessary reports for allocation/billing charges and other benefits-related management reports.

Payroll Support:

· Partner with the payroll specialist each pay period to double-check for accuracy. · Serve as backup for payroll processing during the absence of the payroll specialist, ensuring seamless payroll operations.

Employee Relations:

· Research and respond to employee inquiries, interpreting and explaining HR policies and practices.

· Conduct investigations into employee concerns or issues, ensuring timely and appropriate resolutions.

· Support managers and employees with performance management processes, including performance reviews and disciplinary actions.

Compliance and Reporting:

· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

· Prepare and submit required government reports related to employment, benefits, and payroll.

· Maintain accurate and complete employee records, ensuring confidentiality and data protection.

Training and Development:

· Assist in the development and implementation of training programs for employees.

· Coordinate and conduct new hire orientations, ensuring employees are informed about company policies and benefits.

· Support career development initiatives and assist employees with training opportunities.

General HR Support:

· Cross-train with other HR staff members and assist as needed.

· Perform other HR-related tasks and projects as assigned, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the HR department.
