Job Summary: The Accounts Payable and Property Tax Administrator is responsible for managing the county's accounts payable processes and administering property tax functions. This includes overseeing the property tax abatement program and handling duties associated with the Board of Equalization. The role ensures accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments, maintains vendor records, reconciles accounts, and provides assistance to taxpayers regarding property tax matters.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Process invoices and payments accurately and timely. (Weekly)
  • Maintain vendor records and ensure proper documentation. (Weekly)
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions. (Weekly)
  • Assist with month-end closing and financial reporting. (Monthly)
  • Administer property tax abatements and exemptions. (Daily)
  • Ensure compliance with state reporting requirements. (Monthly)
  • Coordinate with the Board of Equalization on property tax appeals and other duties related to the functions associated with acting as the clerk for the Board of Equalization. (Quarterly)
  • Manage property tax records and databases. (Daily)
  • Provide information and assistance to taxpayers regarding property tax matters. (Daily)
  • Prepare and submit required tax reports and documentation. (Monthly)
  • Monitor and update tax abatement statuses. (Daily)
  • Ensure accurate calculation and application of property tax abatements and exemptions. (Daily)
  • Assist with internal and external audits related to property tax abatements and exemptions. (Daily)
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of property tax laws and regulations. (Daily)
  • Lead training sessions for staff on accounts payable processes. (Quarterly)
  • Assist in the development and implementation of accounts payable policies. (Annually)
  • Other duties as assigned. (Daily)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable and property tax administration.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of accounts payable processes and property tax laws.
  • High level of computer expertise including proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with accounting software and tax databases.
