Job Description:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Network Security Engineer to join our cybersecurity team. As a Network Security Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the security infrastructure of our organization. You will work closely with other IT teams to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our network systems and data.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Network Security Architecture: Design, implement, and maintain network security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and network access control (NAC) systems.

  2. Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits to identify and mitigate potential security risks.

  3. Incident Response: Develop and implement incident response procedures and protocols to quickly detect, respond to, and recover from security incidents.

  4. Security Monitoring: Monitor network traffic for unusual activity and security breaches; analyze and respond to security alerts and incidents.

  5. Access Control: Manage network access controls, authentication mechanisms, and encryption protocols to protect sensitive data and systems.

  6. Security Policy Enforcement: Enforce security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and industry best practices.

  7. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of network security infrastructure, configurations, and incident reports; prepare and present security status reports to management.

  8. Collaboration and Training: Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to educate and promote security awareness across the organization; provide guidance and training on security best practices.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCNA Security) preferred.
  • Proven experience (X years) as a Network Security Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of network protocols, security principles, and practices.
  • Hands-on experience with firewall technologies (e.g., Cisco ASA, Palo Alto Networks), VPN solutions, IDS/IPS systems, and network monitoring tools.
  • Proficiency in conducting security assessments, penetration testing, and implementing security controls.
  • Solid knowledge of encryption algorithms, authentication protocols, and security compliance frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex network security issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
