Senior Inventory Control Specialist

Position Summary
Ensures proper material flow throughout the warehouse through regular inventory counts, documenting finished goods, ingredients, and packaging/warehouse materials. Responsible for coordinating with the Inventory Control Analyst to identify the daily needs of the inventory team and directing the day-to-day operations of the specialist team. Organization and attention to detail are critical to this position, a basic understanding of Microsoft Office Excel and computer literacy is required. The Senior Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for organizing the warehouse based on conditions during the week to conduct counts as accurately as possible while reporting any deficiencies in inventory to Quality Assurance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Communicate with the Inventory Control Supervisor on the direction of daily cycle counts and recounts.
- Communicate with the Inventory Control Supervisor regarding the status of organizational projects and material handling.
- Manage the Inventory Control Specialist team to ensure consistent and timely performance regarding inventory counts and other tasks necessary in supporting operations.
- Flex schedule between 1st and 2nd shifts to support the team as necessary.
- Perform accurate and timely cycle counts across varying inventory types.
- Verify the accuracy of all completed inventory reports and ensure all appropriate reporting and documentation is turned in to the Inventory Control Analyst by the end of the shift.
- Ensure proper cross-functional communication amongst other Operations departments to verify the accuracy of counts during active production.
- Assist with the warehouse's organization and inventory staging for production use.
- Ensure all inventory is properly tagged with appropriate information and in the correct warehouse position.
- Direct necessary inventory transfers to appropriate locations based on production needs.
- Assist in preparing outbound transfers of inventory from Suja to off-site facilities for co-manufacturing, resale, or disposal.
- Adhere to SOP, SSOP, GMP, and HACCP guidelines when in the plant.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
Job Qualifications
Experience: Manufacturing/Warehouse background is a plus.
Knowledge: Proficient experience in Microsoft Excel and basic competency in Microsoft Office Word and Outlook. Forklift experience is a plus.
Language Skills: English speaking is required; Spanish speaking is a plus.
Other Abilities:
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment and adapt to potential changes to schedule, job requirements, and daily priorities.
- Ability to work independently with moderate supervision to complete daily tasks.
- Ability to direct and manage a team.
Working and Environmental Conditions
The position requires work in a wet refrigerated manufacturing facility with temperatures below 40°ree;F. Additionally, tasks may occasionally be performed in a dry warehouse environment with temperatures reaching up to 85°ree;F and/or occasional exposure to freezer warehouse conditions at –10°ree;F. Work areas may be tight and will require continuous exposure to noisy environments exceeding 85 dBA. Strict adherence to safety protocols is mandatory, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, ear protection, and steel-toed shoes. Overtime will be offered and may be required to fulfill business objectives. Must be able to work early in the mornings regularly.
This position may require forklift certification, operation, and adherence to strict safety protocols to maintain certification and prevent accidents and injuries. Basic knowledge of forklift maintenance, routine inspections, and precise loading/unloading of materials is essential.
Physical Demand
Must be able to stand and walk for the entirety of the shift. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs with continuous motion. Must be able to push/pull 100lbs with continuous motion. Must be able to navigate manufacturing equipment and facilities including repetitive bending, kneeling, reaching over head with both arms, stooping, squatting, and twisting. Must be able to climb ladders and stairs and work at heights when needed. Must be able to regularly use hands to handle, grasp and control objects with good gripping strength and manual dexterity. Occasional exposure to moving machinery. Must be able to pass a fit-for-duty physical exam.
