Moonshot - Part-Time Community & Office Manager

 

Position Title: Part-Time Community & Office Manager

Location: In-person on-site (3840 N York Street Suite 100, Denver, CO 80205)

Compensation: $25/hour, non-exempt

Hours: 20-25 hours/week

Founded in 2017, Moonshot is recognized nationally as a model for a community-based approach to identifying a diverse pipeline of leaders and accelerating them to design and launch innovative solutions that center youth on the margins. Moonshot grows a community of BIPOC & historically marginalized leaders with the skills and resources to design collaborative solutions that disrupt systemic inequities impacting youth. Moonshot is currently supporting our seventh cohort of Fellows and continuing to grow our alumni network and services. 

 

THE OPPORTUNITY

Moonshot is launching a coworking space out of 3840 N York Street to provide an affordable, accessible space for small or start-up youth-serving, equity-driven organizations in Denver. Small, start-up nonprofits and organizations struggle to find affordable space in Denver and often resort to spending funds that would otherwise go to staffing and programming on fees and rent or working from home or coffee shops, which contributes to feelings of isolation and silos in the sector. The Moonshot Coworking Space will provide a physical location to catalyze networking, coalition-building, and community support for Moonshot alumni organizations and mission-aligned organizations. Additionally, the coworking space will be a hub for community programming that will support Moonshot’s alumni network and Fellowship recruitment efforts. The space is launching with tenants on October 1, 2024. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

 

[50%] Tenant Communication, Scheduling, Policy & Billing Management

  • Greet visitors, handle inquiries, and provide excellent customer service to tenants and visitors
  • Manage calendar and online rental system for communal spaces and events in the office
  • Sort and deliver tenant mail and packages each day
  • Ensure office policies are upheld by tenants and visitors 
  • Manage invoices and billing for tenants
  • Support tenant recruitment through outreach and leading tours
  • Respond to new member inquiries, support with tour scheduling
  • Collect and analyze community feedback and work closely with the Moonshot  team to implement changes

[35%] Office Organization & Equipment Maintenance

  • Maintain office supplies inventory and order new supplies as needed
  • Manage office vendor relationships, including invoicing, communication, conflict resolution, and troubleshooting as needed
  • Ensure office equipment and environment are in good working condition, including daily maintenance cleaning (there is a nightly cleaning crew that does sweeping and trash pick-up) and communicating with the landlord and building staff as needed
  • Serve as on-site tech support for internet and technical equipment needs
  • Assist the Moonshot team with other projects or administrative tasks related to the office space

[15%] Coworking Space Culture & Community

  • In partnership with Moonshot staff, design and facilitate community-building events utilizing input from tenants and the broader community
  • Run logistics and operations for community-building events, help set up for events, meetings, and tours
  • Recruit attendees through direct outreach and marketing for community-building events 
  • Social media - capture important happenings around the space to contribute to our social media presence
 

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

Success in this position will require the following:

  • Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in the coworking industry, hospitality, administrative, or office management role.
  • Skills: Proficient in Google (Drive, Sheets, Docs, Slides) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel). Familiar with office equipment (copy machines, computers, business internet technology,, etc.). Experience with office management software is a plus. 
  • Culturally Responsive Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of clients and staff.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail. Proven ability to support operations management with minimal supervision.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to anticipate needs, resolve issues independently, and manage priorities effectively.
  • Reliability: Track record of consistent, high-quality performance and delivery of work products. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Must be on-site at the Moonshot Office Monday - Friday from 8/9am - 12/1pm.
  • Potential for the position to become full-time in the future, depending on company growth and individual performance.

TIME STATUS

Part-time, Non-Exempt

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Compensation: $25/hour for 20-25 hours/week
  • Benefits: One hour of paid HFWA leave for every 30 hours worked, up to 48 hours per year; 12 days paid holidays (New Year’s Day, MLK Jr. Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, July 4th, Labor Day, Indigenous Peoples’ Day, Thanksgiving & day after, Christmas Eve & Day).
